It's Reunion Time Again!

Family Association Meets for 54th Reunion

     July 10, 2005

The Purbaugh-Poorbaugh Association 54th Family reunion will be held on July 10, 2005 at the Mt. Olivet Church Picnic Grove 9 miles south of Berlin, PA, off Rt. 160 on legislative Rt. 2020.  Join the fun, food and excitement of visiting with relatives and reliving memories of the clan!

In 1952 Myrtle Alice Shaffer returned from Nebraska to visit relatives in Somerset County, PA where her mother had been born and the rest is history.  About 150 attended that first picnic and the tradition was born.  In recent years, relatives from as far away as Alaska, California, Texas and Florida have traveled to join us.

Thanks to the hard work of many, the original family cemetery has been restored and a Family History Book and a 1988 Supplement were published.  A tour of the cemetery is available for those who wish to participate.
